Before the summer holidays, we wished Ollie well as he set off on his Work Experience placement with the RFL. He has sent us an update of how amazing his experience has been so far!

“I had initially arranged to spend a week with the Rugby Football League at their MediaCity office, but when I had arrived, they had arranged a great week for me – I attended a Business Networking Event in Manchester one morning, in preparation for the 2021 Rugby League World Cup, and was really lucky to meet business leaders from all over the UK (I’ll know where to go if I ever want a job!) I also met with potential stadium hosts. One night I was on Sky Sports as I went with the Broadcast Manager to Wigan Vs Warrington, there is a lot that goes on behind the scenes to get a game on live TV!
The following week, I spent three days at Warrington Borough Council, shadowing their Chief Executive. The council owns the local bus company, so I got a chance to drive a bus for 10 minutes after a meeting with the bus bosses; it was great to see how the council operates.
Still to come are two days at the Card Factory with their Creative Director, and two days with the CEO of Warrington Wolves”.
