Our A Level Social Sciences students attended the ‘Behind Bars’ Conference in the Dalton Theatre!
Today our A Level Psychology and Sociology students attended an in-house conference in our Dalton Theatre. The day-long event, organised by our Social Sciences department, is based upon life ‘Behind Bars’. As crime continues to be a high-profile issue, students who attended the conference heard from released prisoners about the Penalty system.
Our students had the opportunity to speak to our visitors about topics such as: reasons why crimes were committed, punishments received and if our prison systems are successful in rehabilitating criminals. Today’s conference also offered students an opportunity to talk to professionals working within the fields of human behaviour who have studied and applied their skills and knowledge to the areas of criminology.
