Students from A Level English, Media Studies, Film Studies and Law had an amazing week-long trip to New York!
Staying off Fifth Avenue, students visited the Empire State Building on the first evening. The following day consisted of a tour of Lower Manhattan taking in the 9/11 Memorial Museum and Ground Zero; Wall Street; and the Staten Island Ferry to see the Statue of Liberty close up. In the evening the group enjoyed a meal at the Hard Rock Cafe in Times Square. Afterwards, students had free time and managed to spot well-known celebrities: Nicki Minaj, Adam Driver and John Barnes!
Later in the week, accompanied by glorious weather, the group visited the Dakota Building and Strawberry Fields Memorial, Central Park, The Rockefeller, and The Plaza Hotel – made famous in ‘The Great Gatsby’ and ‘Home Alone 2’. In addition, our students watched the Yankees play at their stadium in the Bronx. There were also plenty of shopping opportunities around Fifth Avenue, Macy’s and Greenwich Village. Students also had a free day after a walk over Brooklyn Bridge!
This was a trip of a lifetime for our students; everyone had a fantastic time and the group were overwhelmed with the amount of experiences on offer.
