Students from Carmel College’s Latin Society recently had the incredible opportunity to visit the World Museum in Liverpool, where they engaged with the museum’s Latin American history exhibition and contributed valuable feedback towards its future development.

The visit was part of an ongoing project by the World Museum, in partnership with LUMA Creations, a leading Latin American diversity and arts organisation in the North of England. This initiative aims to create a more dynamic and representative Latin American exhibition, celebrating the region’s rich heritage and cultural contributions.

During their visit, students took part in a guided tour of the current exhibition, gaining insight into the museum’s collection. Following this, they were invited to a roundtable discussion with key figures including the Head Curator of the Americas Collection and Francisco Carrasco, Director of LUMA Creations. The students shared their thoughts and ideas on how the exhibition could be enhanced to better reflect the diversity and historical significance of Latin American culture.
