Fifteen of our students, who are part of our High Achievers’ Programme, visited the Oxford and Cambridge Student Conference at Aintree Racecourse last week.
The event is an annual conference held for students who are considering applying to Oxbridge colleges. It offers students the opportunity to sit in on a number of talks from both staff and undergraduates currently studying at these prestigious universities. Attendees were encouraged to talk to the current Oxbridge students to get a clear picture of the application process and University staff were also on hand to discuss specific subject queries.
The talks for this year included sessions on the application process, personal statement writing and student finance. In addition there were numerous subject specific talks with taster lectures in areas such as Medicine, Architecture, Philosophy, Politics and Economics. The day was a fantastic opportunity for our students who gained valuable insights into applying and studying at Oxford and Cambridge and the glorious weather made the day even more enjoyable. We wish them all the best with their applications!
