There was a great atmosphere in college this lunch time for our Lower Sixth Freshers’ Fair, giving our new students the opportunity to find out what’s on offer this year.
We had an array of stalls and representatives providing information about activities and trips at the Freshers’ Fair. Including the Future Teachers Programme, the annual ski trip, the Washington trip, E&D Committee, LGBT+ Society, Mandarin, Taekwondo, Voice Music groups and many more. It was great to see our Upper Sixth students getting involved too by promoting a wide range of extra-curricular activities such as the Medicine Society, Tomorrow’s Engineers, the local Rugby League team and the National Theatre Acting & Drama Performance Programme.
Students found out about the many fantastic sports and fitness sessions on offer as well as opportunities to be involved in the Chaplaincy and the P.E.A.K Project. Our Duke of Edinburgh representatives also held an impromptu cook-out, demonstrating some of the skills needed to survive whilst out on expeditions.
Principal, Mike Hill, alongside the Pastoral Team, were spotted around campus engaging with students and helping them settle in with a few welcoming words. It was great to see the college alive with activity once again, highlighting the true spirit of the Carmel community.
We’d like to say a huge thank you to all the staff and students who attended the 2018 Freshers’ Fair. It was a fabulous start to another exciting year at Carmel College!
