Wow, what an fantastic set of results for Carmel’s Class of 2022! So many happy, smiling faces in college as students came together to celebrate what has been another exceptional year for exam results!
This year students achieved a very impressive Level 3 pass rate of 99.4% with 68.1% top grades (A*-B / Dist*-Dist) and 87.8% high grades (A*-C / Dist*-Merit).
2022’s results confirm that Carmel is:
One of the top 3 Sixth Form Colleges in the country*
The top performing college in Merseyside*
The top A Level provider in St Helens*
*The Times, % A* / A*-B grades (19-08-22)
Carmel College Principal, Mike Hill, was delighted. He commented, “This is a fantastic set of results for the college, particularly when one considers that for most of the students, these were the first public exams these young people have ever sat. The college has significantly outperformed its 2019 results, which is a testimony to the hard work and determination of all our students who have had such a challenging time over the last few years of their education journey. With 68% of Carmel students achieving the top grades, we are confident that they will all be able to move on to their chosen degree, job or apprenticeship. I would also like to take the opportunity to thank all the staff at Carmel, who for the past two years have consistently put the needs of our students first and offered outstanding support which again is reflected in these phenomenal results.”
This year, seven students are continuing their studies at the prestigious Oxbridge Universities and a further fifteen students will be studying Medicine, Dentistry or Veterinary Science.
Congratulations to all our students who have worked so hard over the past two years and will now progress to their next steps. There are far too many students to mention everyone individually but here are just a few examples of some outstanding achievements:-
