On Wednesday 26th June 2024 our Foundation Learning department came together at St Helens Book Stop for the official launch of their new children’s book; Have A Go Avocado.

Have A Go Avocado offers insights and support to others on their educational journey, retold through the creative perspective of our Foundation Learning students and has been produced on behalf of St Helens local authority, to support the EHCP process for young people across the borough. Each page has been carefully crafted by our nine student authors, retelling personal experiences and struggles at school by encapsulating an inspiring message of overcoming fear, apprehension and challenges by having a go.

The launch event was a fantastic celebration of the amazing work of our students with Councillor Jeanette Banks, Mayor of St Helens in attendance to commemorate the day! We’d like to thank everyone who attended the event in support of our students, special thank you to the students of Eaves Primary School for being the first to hear a live reading of Have A Go Avocado and to St Helens Book Stop for hosting our launch event.

Congratulations to everyone who has taken part in this once in a lifetime opportunity by making this book a success, we’re excited to see Have A Go Avocado in local primary schools inspiring the next generation very soon.
