Congratulations to Jessica Cook, Millie Raine and Kirsten Bottom who represented the North West at the AoC Sport National Championships at the University of Nottingham. Our students battled against athletes from colleges across England, Wales and Northern Ireland to come home with two silver medals!

Millie managed a 15th place finish with a time of 19 minutes, 41 seconds. Additionally, six of the North West runners finished with top 20 places earning them a Silver medal as a team!
Lower Sixth student, Kirsten Bottom took part in a series of nail-biting Hockey matches as part of the North West Female Barbarian team. She secured a 6th place finish, registering 2 wins, 1 draw and 4 losses.
As well as their individual achievements, the Carmel girls helped the North West region finish in sixth place out of the eleven regions competing.
AoC Sport Managing Director, Marcus Kingwell said: “Despite tough times for colleges, more than 130 took part in this year’s National Championships. This proves just how much colleges value sport and recognise its positive impact on students. Sport is a great way to engage directly with young people. It’s been a privilege to help over 1700 students enjoy the excitement, teamwork and friendship that comes from being part of this amazing sporting event.”
