On Monday 17th June, five Carmel students from the Debating Society and the EPAS scheme took part in a debate ahead of the mock general election.
The mock election is taking place in Carmel to coincide with the general election on Thursday 4th July where Carmel College students will be asked to cast a vote for one of our candidates.
Our five candidates are representing parties across the political spectrum:
- Leon is representing the Liberal Democrats
- Luis is representing Labour
- Vyara is representing Reform UK
- Wiktor is the Green Party candidate
- Ollie is representing the Conservatives
The debate that took place on Monday 17th June was expertly moderated and hosted by Isabella. All of our candidates did an excellent job debating issues regarding the European Union, immigration, the economy and the NHS.
