Art Foundation students Gina Ferguson and Freya-May Davies had the opportunity to showcase their stunning fashion collections at the recent Refugee Women Connect charity fashion show, Strike a Pose.
The show was held to coincide with International Women’s Day. It was a celebration of fashion, community, diversity and the vital work Refugee Women Connect does and included Gina and Freya-May’s work alongside collections from ten other aspiring and professional designers.
Refugee Women Connect is a Merseyside based charity, working to build a safe life in the UK for female refugees and asylum seekers. Their service users come from all walks of life, including those who have fled situations of conflict, persecution and abuse.
RWC offers practical support including expert casework, accommodation, school access for children, mental health support and English language classes.
100% of ticket sales from the fashion show will go directly to Refugee Women Connect, enabling them to continue to provide essential support to the women who rely on their services.
Well done to Gina and Freya-May for all your hard work and contribution to this fantastic cause. Find out more about studying Art Foundation at Carmel.
