Our Art & Design high achievers had a great time at the National Football Museum in Manchester for an Articulation Discovery Day.
Students worked in groups to analyse and deliver a presentation about a piece of artwork from the gallery in the museum, including ‘Park life’ by Stanley Chow, ‘Lily Parr’ by Hannah Stewart and ‘Going to the match’ by LS Lowry.
Students developed their critical analysis, research and public speaking skills and collaborated with students from other sixth forms. At the end of the day, students delivered some fantastic presentations in front of representatives from the National Gallery and National Football Museum, including their CEO.
For the next stage, students will be taking part in an internal heat at college, delivering a 10-minute presentation about a chosen piece of art. The winning student will then go to the Whitworth Art Gallery to compete in the Articulation prize. Good luck!
