This course develops excellent organisation and visual communication skills that can enhance a future career in any area. Many students progress to a range of degree courses or Carmel’s UAL Art Foundation Diploma.
There are many career opportunities within the fashion & textiles industry leading to specialisation in, for example: Womenswear, Menswear, Styling, Fashion Buying, Fashion Promotion, Costume Design for theatre and television.
My favourite part of the Fashion & Textile Design course was the amount of freedom we had with our choices, if we didn’t feel confident in something our tutor was great at hearing us out and guiding us to great outcomes with the skills we enjoyed.
It felt like I had complete creative freedom when it came to my final pieces.
Studying Fashion and Textile Design has been such an enriching experience, I have learnt so many skills – not just artistic techniques but transferrable skills that have helped me develop my abilities in all my subjects, as well as in my personal life.
The support and resources at Carmel are incredible and the subject has helped me reinforce my love for fashion and I feel very prepared for my future studying the subject.
