Once again the DfE Performance Tables confirm that Carmel College leads the way for the quality of its academic provision!
The Department for Education performance tables place Carmel top when compared with all colleges in St Helens and neighbouring boroughs. This is for the amount of progress students make after completing their GCSEs through to finishing their studies at college.
The DfE tables show that students at institutions with an above zero rating make more progress than expected. A rating below zero shows that students make less progress than expected. The ‘above average’ rating confirms that the quality of teaching, learning and support at Carmel is outstanding, consistently enabling students to leave with above expected outcomes.
Staff at Carmel are delighted with the DfE’s findings. The progress score shows how hard working our students are. It’s also recognition for the outstanding teaching and support they receive from the staff at college every day.
Principal, Mike Hill, said “After achieving an Ofsted Outstanding rating last year, it’s great to receive further confirmation of the outstanding education we provide to all our students. This excellent progress measure is fantastic as it shows that all our students perform above their predicted grades no matter where they start from.”
