At the end of last year, Carmel’s Governors introduced a new award. This is to recognise and celebrate the achievements and hard work of the staff at the college. Congratulations to this year’s winner, Criminology Teacher, Nathan Jolley!
Carmel has a supportive, inclusive and highly motivated staff community and the award will become an annual celebration of this. The award was open to all staff across teaching and support roles. Staff members nominated a colleague who they felt had shown outstanding commitment and demonstrated a valuable contribution to the college’s mission.
One of Nathan’s colleagues said: “Nathan has proved how valuable he is to the whole college by always supporting other staff members. He has given up his own time to help out colleagues on numerous occasions. Nathan has also been supportive and welcoming to new staff. He has recently set up the Staff Wellbeing Committee as well as organising various staff events including quizzes, walks, and meditation. This is a clear demonstration of Nathan contributing to the caring Christian environment at Carmel.”
Nathan commented: “When I found out about winning the award, I was completely shocked, I wasn’t expecting it. It really means a lot that my colleagues took the time to vote for me. Carmel is a great community and I feel really proud to be noticed for playing a role in it.”
Well done to Nathan, a truly well-deserved winner!
