‘Speakers for Schools’ member Martin Prendergast came into college today to talk to our History, English and Drama students. He told them about his varied career path and his journey in getting there.
Speakers for Schools is a network of today’s most influential figures across business, arts, politics and more. Their aim is to end educational inequality by giving all young people access to the same prestigious networks available to the top fee-paying schools in the UK.
Martin currently works for the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art (RADA) and has worked for the National Theatre for eleven years. He has also spent ten years at Guardian News and Media. His current job role as Communications & Public Affairs Consultant and Interim Director of Development, is challenging and varied. His work ranges from meeting the Prime Minister or famous actors, to liaising with the police.
The students really enjoyed the session and found the talk both interesting and inspiring.
