Our English Language and Literature students visited London last week to watch Arthur Miller’s play ‘All My Sons’ at the Old Vic Theatre.
The trip was a great opportunity not only to experience live theatre, but also the key themes of the play; wartime profiteering, systemic corruption, and the warped nature of the American Dream. Students will be answering a key question on this text at the end of their course. It was fantastic to see how the director had interpreted these fractured familial relationships, bringing alive their close reading of the play.
During their time in London the group also visited street performers in Covent Garden, the River Thames, and Leicester Square.
