Former Carmel students are benefitting from The Rathbone Investment Management Apprenticeship Scheme
Several of our students are currently part of Rathbones Apprenticeship Scheme which began in 2013. The scheme provides the opportunity for those wanting to start a career in finance, to combine on-the-job experience with formal training and the opportunity to gain a professional qualification.
We recently caught up with Ben Haake and Amy Carline to see how they their apprenticeships are going.
Amy left Carmel in 2018 having studied A Levels in Economics, Maths and Business Studies. She told us “the apprenticeship is going great! I am learning all about the company through doing the different rotations around the operations department. I’m also working to complete an industry qualification that will help with my future career. None of this would have been possible without the help of my tutors at Carmel and I am very thankful for the support they gave me. I would recommend this apprenticeship programme without hesitation for anyone who wants a career in the financial industry.”
After leaving Carmel in 2017, it was great to hear from Ben, who completed A Levels in Business Studies, P.E. and Biology; “I am currently approaching the end of my two year apprenticeship at Rathbones. I have successfully secured a full time position working in the Fees Team, where I have spent my last six months. The apprenticeship programme has been thoroughly enjoyable and I would recommend this as a great way to embark on a career in the financial services.”
We are so pleased to hear that both of our former students are doing really well and enjoying their work within the finance sector.
