Three women leaders from the food, grocery and retail industry came into college to discuss their leadership roles to BTEC and A Level Business students. They gave an interesting and motivational talk into their careers to date and strategies for business and personal success.
Guest speakers included Joy Parkinson, CEO of Faith in Nature, Lauren Monk, National Development Manager at WorKing Options, which is a non-profit organisation that aims to help young people of all abilities and backgrounds succeed in their careers after education. The third speaker was Alison Cannon, Marketing Director for Resonate Search & Selection which is a specialist national recruitment consultancy for FMCG/Retail/Engineering/ Manufacturing/Health/Pharmaceutical/Construction/Oil & Gas.
Their collective key ingredients for success are: perseverance, positive thinking, hard work, networking, research, can do attitude, problem solving and work experience.
Alison stated that you must… “think ahead, be prepared, have passion, no excuses and always do more!” and used the quote “Fail to prepare, prepare to fail!”
