We were delighted to welcome children’s book author and illustrator, Maxine Lee-Mackie into college. Previously, Maxine worked as a technician in Carmel’s Art Department, but she is now a highly successful freelance illustrator.

Maxine has created some wonderful picture books including ‘Dear Father Christmas’ and ‘Pi-rat’. She has also worked for some amazing clients, such as Disney and Warner Bros. 

Our Art and Design students enjoyed listening to Maxine’s talk, viewing her books, and participating in a character design workshop. We are really grateful to Maxine for taking the time to visit us; the session really inspired our students – thank you!
