The ‘New Eyes On Photography’ exhibition at Liverpool’s Open Eye Gallery features some fantastic work produced by some of Carmel’s talented UAL Art Foundation and A Level Photography students!
The project continues the Photography Department’s partnership with Open Eye Gallery which involves students producing work in response to the Sony World Photography Awards.
Throughout the process our students attended three trips, one for the launch of the brief at the gallery, one at UCEN in Manchester were students engaged with students who are studying BA in Photography and Social Practice in a critique session, and the third visit involved going to the exhibition to see the students’ selected work in the gallery itself.
The categories that make up the Sony competition include architecture, creative projects, documentary projects, the environment, landscape, portraiture, portfolios of work, still life, sport, wildlife and nature. The work submitted from our students focuses on one of these topics and is an exploration of the power and diversity of the medium photography.
The ‘New Eyes on Photography’ gallery will be on display in Liverpool’s Open Eye Gallery until the 4th December.
