External Review of Governance
In compliance with the Department for Education guidance on board reviews, the Governing Body commissioned an external review of governance during 2023-24. The review was conducted on behalf of the Association of Colleges by consultant reviewer, Ron Matthews, and was completed in May 2024. The overall conclusion on board effectiveness was that ‘There is strong evidence that the board is highly proficient and consistently impacts positively on college strategy, effectiveness and outcomes.’ An action plan to address the recommended areas for development is in place and monitored by the Governing Body.
