Our Art and Design students had a fantastic opportunity today to attend a careers talk with former student Lauren Hogan.
After completing the UAL Art Foundation course at Carmel, Lauren progressed to study a BA Hons Graphic Design degree at the University of Salford. She then worked for publishing house, Conde Nast (Vogue, GQ, Vanity Fair, Glamour, Wired) before moving to luxury fashion giant, Net-A-Porter.
More recently Lauren has worked as the Lead Product Manager for ITV prior to her amazing new role as Director of Digital at Liverpool Football Club! Lauren discussed her time working on both magazines and digital platforms within fashion, finance, television and sport.
Lauren said: “It was a pleasure to come back to Carmel and have the opportunity to talk to the students. Thanks to Dave, I wouldn’t have had the amazing experiences I’ve had across my career. Carmel College and the foundation level specifically, gave me the platform to understand the creative areas that I loved. The support and dedication I received pushed me to drive my career forward within the creative industry. It has taken a lot of dedication, drive and passion – but I would never had any of this if Carmel hadn’t believed in me.“
Head of Graphic Design, Dave Fox said: “It’s always great when our alumni come back to college to inspire our current students, and even more so when it’s someone with such an impressive CV as Lauren’s! We’re so grateful to her for finding time in her busy schedule to come in and deliver such a motivational and engaging talk. Our students undoubtedly got lots out of today and have had their eyes opened to the wealth of career opportunities there are within the creative industries.”
