We are so pleased to announce that our Foundation Learning department are due to receive funding from the Merseyside Recycling and Waste Authority and Veolia Community Fund for 2021/2022. The aim of this funding is to support local waste prevention, re-use and recycle initiatives.
On receiving the funding our Foundation Learning department will be able to educate and deliver waste-reducing behavioural change projects. They will be holding workshops which equip students with the skills to re-use and upcycle old and unwanted furniture, clothes as well as teaching them how to grow their own food, manage food waste and reduce plastics.
Our Foundation Learning department would like collaborate with other departments across college to raise awareness on sustainability and share skills and knowledge, whilst developing their eco enterprise and sensory garden! They have been working with our UAL Extended Diploma students who have been creating logos and other design content.
We can’t wait to get involved!
