Congratulations to Lower Sixth student, Abi Reynolds, who has won a 30% scholarship for the Cambridge Summer School.
Abi, who studies Graphic Design, History and Psychology at Carmel, entered the Immerse Summer School Essay competition earlier this month. Successful entries win a scholarship for the Cambridge Summer school which costs just under £5000. The summer school is attended by people from all over the world, with only a limited of places for each subject area. Students can choose out of a range of subjects.
Abi commented “The subject I chose to write about was Psychology. The essay title was “Is Psychology a Science?” I had to write around 500 words. It’s a research task so you have to reference other writers and spend time looking through other people’s evidence.
I was thrilled when I found out I’d won a 30% scholarship. I’m not going to use it for the summer school as it’s too expensive but I still have the opportunity to use it towards one of the online courses that are on offer throughout the year.”
Well done Abi for this fantastic achievement.
